Jiyugaoka Lightning Marche in Tokyo featured on a national newspaper
The second Jiyugaoka Lightning Marche was a big success with easily over 100 bitcoiners gathered to buy different goods with Lightning. This time, you could even buy rice, veggies, special handmade Bitcoin goods and more.
This event is mainly organized by a group of passionate bitcoiners in Japan and Diamond Hands supports it in the background.
Also, a huge shout-out to volunteers in the community to make it happen and to our generous sponsors; Wallet of Satoshi, Fulgur Japan, Burry Market Research and Satoricoin.
You can check out photos of the event with this hashtag on Twitter/X.
The marche was also covered by Asahi Shimbun, one of the major national newspapers in Japan.

This is the first time that the Lightning Network was mentioned on a major newspaper as far as we know.
It was refreshing to see a positive coverage of Bitcoin and the Lightning Network on mainstream media in Japan, especially with this type of grassroots movement.
With ever declining yen and inflation, we believe interest for Bitcoin is rising organically in Japan as of late. There is still lots to be desired in terms of Bitcoin and Lightning adoption in Japan but the momentum is real. Onwards.
